Scam emails, texts and phone calls are becoming more popular each day and with this, are becoming harder to spot. Here are a few things to look out for if you believe that you have received a scam message.
Grammar - Check the spelling throughout the email, professional companies will not have any spelling mistakes within their emails.
Senders email address - Always check the address that sent you the email. Scam emails will usually have an address that is a random mix of numbers and letter or they will end in generic domains such as gmail, outlook, hotmail etc. No big company will use any of these domains.
Links / Attachments - If you think you have a scam email DO NOT open any links or attachments. This can lead to your device gaining viruses and your personal information being breached.
Login details - NEVER give your login details or bank details out through email or through any links sent from an email or text you think are suspicious.
If you are unsure about an email or text message that you have received, then book an appointment and we will be able to help you determine if the email is a scam or not. You can also contact the original business that the email or text is claiming to be from. They will be able to tell you if it is them right away.
If you believe that you may have a virus due to one of these emails or messages then book in with us for a health check on your device.
A network reset can fix a lot of issues such as, no service, no sim, no Wi-Fi, slow internet, etc.
